Ellias started his career on the New York Sentinels. He played with them for over a decade before his career ending knee injury.His partner waited only as long as it took Ellias to get out of surgery before she left him, and their twelve year old son, in the dust.That was 10 years ago.Ellias is now the head coach for the New Jersey Brawlers, collecting players based on talent, despite their somewhat shakey pasts.His son Isaiah, now 22, is playing for the Austin Coyotes.

Isaiah and his dad have always been close, the two of them playing hockey together when Isaiah was little.When his mother left, his father became his only parent and the two became thick as thieves. Unable to play himself, Ellias started coaching his kid's team, and Isaiah ate, slept, and breathed hockey. He'd go to college games, watch the NHL on TV and he had all the support in the world.He was recruited straight out of college, a legacy, clearly as good, no better, than his father.Isaiah had contract offers from multiple teams, including the Brawlers and the Austin Coyotes. He chose the Coyotes for his rookie year, determined to make a name for himself outside his father's direct influence.

Axel is an artist, working with scrap metal and welding tools more often than not. If he’s not at the rink he’s in his garage sculpting.Axel made his college hockey team when he beat the shit out of the entire defensive line for bullying their equipment manager. The coach was a genius because no one knew what to do when someone the size of an enforcer took center position on the ice.His speed and skill got him recruited out of college by the Detroit Red Lions. Axel played with them until his arrest stole his career out from under him.Axel was arrested for aggravated assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, a charge that cost him five years of his life and his career. He spent a few years doing not much of anything at all, just keeping to himself and trying to stay out of trouble until Ellias Bates showed up and offered him a job.

Spoiled, entitled, and arrogant, Nero’s natural talent and his parent’s money has always opened a lot of doors. He’s a bully, throwing around his social weight to get his way. He’s subtle and underhanded, perfectly comfortable with manipulation and cheating if it gets him the win.

Jericho is Russian-American and Russian was his first language, spoken at home. He has the softest lilt of a Russian accent despite growing up in California.Jericho has been goalie for the NJ Brawlers for the last four years. This is his first year as team captain and he’s doing his best to lead this team of rough assholes to a championship. On the ice, Jericho is a demanding, bellowing captain with the reflexes of a cat, but off the ice, he’s quiet, shy and gentle.
